This macis is native to Papua New Guinea. The delicate orange-colored weave is the dried seed coat of nutmeg. Macis has the flavors of nutmeg, but is much milder and therefore easier to dose. For subtle spice of fine soups, eggs, fish, seafood, potatoes, cheese, cabbage, gourd and dairy foods. Wonderful for the Christmas bakery!
