This noble mushroom, which is native to almost all of Europe, grows here from May to September, mainly in light beech forests. The dried porcini mushroom is ideal for mushroom dishes and for refining soups and sauces. The sliced porcini mushrooms are dried and soaked before processing. Depending on the recipe, try milk or sherry as a soaking liquid instead of water.
