    PHILOSOPHY

    OUR STANDARD TO CREATE INDIVIDUAL, TERROIR-SHAPED WINES FROM EXCELLENT SLOPES THAT LET YOU FEEL THE PASSION OF THE WINEMAKER IS OUR TOP MAXIM. The cultivation of the vineyards is biodynamic and the quality of the grapes grows in harmony with nature. We share this philosophy in the family as well as with our dedicated team.

    In 1890 my grandfather founded his own cooperage in the heart of Würzburg. He was a master of the art of cooperage and the most famous wineries were supplied with his casks. Over the years, wine has become the focal point, because joy and passion have led to top wines from the best locations in Franconia. Since 1990, together with my wife Sandra, I have been managing the fortunes of the winery - Weingut am Stein. It is always important to us to realize our personal wishes and goals. The combination of good wine and good food, cultural creativity and team spirit inspires us just as much as the great atmosphere at Wein am Stein, which is always lived by the entire team. Immediately after studying viticulture, I laid the first foundations for the conversion to ecological and later biodynamic farming, whose sustainable self-image we are also happy to pass on to our children Antonia and Vincenz, in addition to enjoyment and joie de vivre.

  • Organic winery Caspari-Kappel

    Peter Kappel Sr. laid the foundation stone of our current winery in the middle of the 19th century. His family has been growing wine since 1701. In 1949 his granddaughter married the medical councilor and winery owner Dr. Caspari, so that the Caspari and Kappel wineries came together.
    In 1970, after completing his studies, Thomas Caspari took over the management of the goods. Nico Caspari has taken the lead since 2010. With the young, committed Uwe Jostock as partner and cellar master, the award-winning winery now exists in its current form.
