  • Fine spirits from Golles

It all started with an idea, a really crazy idea to be precise. Since 1979 we have dedicated ourselves to this with body and soul and leave nothing to chance. We distill using the traditional double distillation process in valuable copper stills - free of sugar and flavorings or colorings.

    The clear fires
A variety of local fruit varieties, fermented when fully ripe, carefully distilled and stored in glass carboys or stainless steel tanks for harmonious ripening, fill the brandy glasses with pure fruitiness.

    The barrel-stored fires
In the vaulted cellar, which was specially built from old bricks, our Old Apple and our Old Plum are allowed to rest in oak barrels for at least eight years. In addition to the typical golden yellow color and the woody, slightly vanilla notes and tones, the oak barrel also impresses with the indescribable mildness of the finished spirits.

    XA rarities
According to the credo `What matures for a long time becomes infinitely good`, Alois Golles guards his fires like the apples of his eyes. Decades ago, small quantities were retained in special vintages and, after long storage, bottled into limited edition and hand-numbered bottles. Stored in our liquor safe, they receive the attention that XA (extra old) rarities deserve.

    Noble bitter
Green walnuts, roots and herbs from the local gardens make our noble bitter a unique drinking experience. As soon as you take the first sip, the wonderful bitter notes of gentian root, centaury and bloodroot tickle the tips of your tongue. What follows is a herbal, almost medicinally rounded touch of around fifteen local herbs.

    pomace brandy
Manfred Tement, the well-known winemaker from beautiful southern Styria, brings us the pressing residue from the Muscat harvest year after year. From this we distill a fine pomace brandy, which impresses on the nose with its floral scent and on the palate with its intense fruitiness.
