In 1842 family Barry sets the standards as a coffee and tea merchant. Charles Barry travels to Africa in the same year to make a selection of cocoa beans that would enable him to become the first chocolate expert to produce the most delicious cocoa and chocolate products. By buying the Lacaree family in 1923, the company is currently catapulted into the global market and is increasingly investing in cocoa plants, factories and communities in Africa and South America.
