Henri Bourgeois Winery - Val de Loire region

After ten generations of the Bourgeois family had practiced mixed farming, Henri Bourgeois decided in 1950 to take the bold step of concentrating entirely on viticulture with only two hectares of vineyards in Sancerre.

His sons and grandchildren have now expanded the cultivation area to an impressive 70 hectares, on the best hillsides of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume.

The house`s style is rather traditional. Great emphasis is placed on minerality, as this reflects the magnificently diverse terroirs of the Loire.

The Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume wines from Henri Bourgeois are also characterized by their very good aging potential.
