DEMARLE was founded in 1965 in northern France by M. Guy Demarle. Mr. Demarle was a seasoned baker looking for a better way to make baguette bread with molds and non-stick silicone coatings. He invented the first non-stick baguette baking trays (or fillets known in France). Some years later, Mr. Demarle also invented and designed the original Silpat baking foil and the preformed Silform mat. In 1985, DEMARLE introduced the revolutionary Flexipan product - a unique range of flexible shapes made from food grade silicone fiber. Since its founding, DEMARLE has established itself as an innovator of unique products for the professional bakery, pastry and catering industries.

This proprietary fiberglass mesh gives our molds superior strength and durability, as well as unsurpassed non-stick properties when baking and freezing. This material also allows for maximum heat transfer, easy demoulding and quick cleaning.
The durability and longevity of our Flexipan and Silpat mats is also far superior to that of traditional non-stick coatings, as each Flexipan and Silpat mat can withstand up to 2,000 to 3,000 bakes (depending on use).
