  • Winery artist

    In 1965, Franz Kunstler had the opportunity to become self-employed. The Kunstler winery was newly founded. In doing so, he laid the foundation for the company`s rise to one of the most successful family businesses in the Rheingau.

    What initially started with just a few hectares of vineyards became a success story. Influenced by his father`s philosophy and inspired by his pursuit of quality, Gunther Kunstler trained as a winemaker and then studied viticulture. From 1988 he took over the development of the wines and quickly achieved international fame. Gunther Kunstler has been running the winery himself since 1992.
