Lukas Krauss is the winemaker with a hat. Following Brecht, who called himself a playwright among poets, Lukas sees himself as a winemaker among winegrowers. He got a small vineyard from his father in 2007 and has been working in the family business ever since. The winemaker likes to pretend to be a funny oddball, but his wines have to be taken seriously because no one can get more out of such inconspicuous vineyard sites than this talent. In Lambsheim, near Ludwigshafen, Krauss` vines are located on an area of 9 hectares. The soil is loose and loose, simply yellow to ocher-loess.

Luka`s wines reflect his personality, from full of character to individual. Lukas presents his wines through clever self-staging, his own funny design with stick figures and the sharp ss. The hat reflects the quality levels, not Kabinett, not Spatlese, but one hat or two hats. From the 2014 vintage onwards, all Lukas Krauss < Vegan > wines have been awarded. We are excited to see what exciting things Lukas will present to us in his father`s business in the next few years.
